When thousands of humpback whales begin their annual journey from the chilly waters of the North Atlantic Ocean to the Caribbean, more than 1,500 visit the Samana Bay off the coast of Punta Cana.

At any time in the whale season between January 20th and March 31st, there are approximately 300 humpback whales swimming through the crystal blue waters. Therefore, the World Wildlife Fund has named Samana Bay as one of the top locations in the world for whale watching.
