EXCURSION DETAILS

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, Cap Cana has a very unique zip line course. The Farallon Zip Line does not attach to trees, but to the El Farallon Cliff, which has amazing views of the Caribbean Sea as your backdrop.

One of the Longest Cables in the Dominican Republic

There are eight zip lines in this course. The longest line is about 1,500 feet and the highest is 250 feet above the forests of Cap Cana. You will cross suspension bridges and eco-trails with beautiful scenery to reach each platform, which provide plenty of opportunities for photos. After your exhilarating zip lining adventure, it’s time to take a break to have snacks and refreshments.

Hoyo Azul – The Most Sought After Attraction in Punta Cana

More excitement is yet to come as you head from the dry forests of Cap Cana down into the humidity of Hoyo Azul, one of the Dominican Republic’s most popular cenotes. It’s a natural lagoon whose fresh, azure water comes from an underground reservoir. Located at the bottom of a mighty cliff, Hoyo Azul is the perfect place to relax in the crystal-clear water and unwind after zip lining.

Book your tour to the south of Punta Cana to enjoy the adventure of zip lining in Cap Cana and the serene aquatic setting of Hoyo Azul.

Helpful Tips

This excursion exceeded our expectations. After never having done zip lining before I was initially nervous but the views are incredible and the staff really makes you feel comfortable. Lunch was very hearty with burgers, hotdogs, french fries, pasta with marinara sauce, steamed potatoes and carrots and all the fixins to go with it. Hoyo Azul was a little bit of a walk but definitely worth it when you get there. You can also purchase a disc of pictures from the whole day if you want for $60 dollars. We did that and received 94 pictures. They took the time at Hoyo Azul to take quite a few extra of just “us” because we had already bought the disc and they wanted to make sure we got lots of pictures for it. Worth the money in my opinion. I highly highly recommend this tour. If/when we go back, it’s something I wouldn’t hesitate to do again.

The excursion is amazing, and we are thinking of coming again next year to the same place! The beaches were beautiful, and we only got rained on once. I’ve have been recommending it to anyone who will listen. The zip lining was remarkable, and we will probably go swimming and see the dolphins next time. Thank you very much!

My husband and I went on this excursion during our honeymoon. The staff was great and very funny. We felt very safe on the ziplines, and the views were spectacular! It was a long walk to the Hoyo Azul but it was well worth it once we got there. The water was cold but very refreshing.

Thank you for your review Jaime 🙂 I’m super happy you had a great time on the zip lines and couldn’t agree with you more on how a refreshing dip in Hoyo Azul is the perfect end to the walk there!

The guides were so kind and informative. Hoyo Azul is insanely gorgeous and a must see, and zip lining is so much fun! I felt safe and well cared for on the hikes and on the lines.

MIA IS THE CUTEST! The lunch could have been a little better but over all it was great. The tour guide to the blue hole was a little “bootleg” but over all the experience was a lot of fun. Shout out to Eve. Her sonrisa was beutiful.

First let me say for all of you who are unsure about booking your excursions before you go, DO IT. You will save yourself a ton of money and hassle. The people at the resort will be mad at you but don’t let that fool you, this place is legit.
Now, to the actual tour. I was pretty dissapointed with this one. From the picture they show here it makes it appear that you will be zip lining over the Hoyo Azul. THIS IS NOT TRUE. It’s very misleading. Basically what you do is go zip lining over a bunch of woods, there’s a lot of climbing involved just as a warning. My husband loved it but I wasn’t that thrilled. Plus the harness was cutting into my legs the entire time. The last zip line (and the longest) was definitely the best. You have the option of doing the Hoyo Azul tour first but I wouldn’t recommend that, you don’t want to be soaking wet while zip lining. After zip lining you go eat a free, mediocre lunch. then wait around for an hour until the Hoyo Azul tour starts. Then you’ll wait some more, then you’ll take a “scenic” detour to get there which is a path that weaves around some plants they planted when you could just take the path that goes straight to get there. Then you cross a bridge where they feel it necessary to take everyone’s pictures. Then you wait around some more, then your FINALLY get there and it’s pretty, but much smaller than it appears in the picture. In my opinion, totally not worth it. If this is something you are interested in, great, but there is a lot of walking with little reward, and the photo prices are pretty high as well.

This was great. If you’re scared to zipline, don’t worry — the first few lines are slow and easy while you get used to it. The guides make sure you’re always clipped onto something (even while you stand on the platform to wait your turn). I was a little nervous going into it, but they quickly put me at ease and I had a blast. Their photographer got some great shots (way better than the ones my husband and I took) and it was fun to come home with a bunch of photos on a disk.

Definitely add the Hoyo Azul trip. The water was cool and it was shaded, so we could swim without having to keep track of when to reapply sunscreen. We had fun jumping off the little dock. So refreshing! They say to wear water shoes but if you walk slowly and carefully on the big rocks leading into the water, you’ll be fine barefoot. Bring a towel — they aren’t provided at the park.

I had a lot of fun doing this tour, the staff very kind and helpful. Once you start the tour you will see beautiful landscapes and the adrenaline in the zip line wao.

The hoyo azul is a place that you need to go I mean is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.

A great tour I must say, has been fun and safe I loved it!

This is a two in 1 excursion. Some people on our tour were doing only the zip line but what they didn’t know is that they would be missing the BEST part of this tour, Hoyo Azul (blue hole) which is absolutely astonishing. The water is unbelievably transparent and you can see the cave formations all the way in the bottom of the lagoon… Some people dived all the way down but I couldn’t because I have ear problems. The water is very cold but just perfect after zip lining. There are a couple of lifesavers on the dock for those who don’t know how to swim (children used them while I was there). I’m going back to Hoyo Azul this year, it’s that amazing.

The zip line is also great, I did the Canopy Adventure zip line up in the mountains and that one has a longer cable and I think it’s also faster but the views on this zip line is great. The last line was the best one, fast and super long! There are a couple of short lines which are basically there to help you get from one platform to the other, nothing exciting about those… but the view is so cool that you don’t mind. There is more waiting in line on this zip line compared to the canopy adventure but I actually didn’t mind and for what I could see neither did anybody else. Two thumbs way up for this excursion, loved it!

I have the same question as Laura Wentz. I have a 3 year old who would not be able to zipline but my husband will zipline with my 6 year old. Is there a way my son and I meet them?

Support
5 months 11 days ago

Hi Sandra, we can book just the Hoyo Azul portion of the tour for you and your son. While your husband and your other child zip line you are more than welcome to wait for them on the lobby of the park where it’s cool and comfortable. Please e-mail us at info@iheartdr.com so we can give you a quote for this option. Thank you =)

One person in our group of 4 does not plan to zipline. Is there a seperate tour we could book so that person could meet us for the Hoyo Azule portion?

Support

We could book just the Hoyo Azul excursion for the member of your party who won’t zipline. He could wait for you while you zip line, no problem. Please e-mail us at info@iheartdr.com so I can send you a quote for this and explain things further.
