My daughter and I will be staying at Excellence Punta Cana April 4 to April 11, 2015. If I book with you all, will we be picked up at our hotel or have to taxi elsewhere for tour transport?

Traveling time between Punta Cana and Los Haitises is approximately three hours of nonstop driving. Since we will make three stops on the way for food, refreshment, and bathroom breaks, the journey to the park will take about four and a half hours. This is beautiful ride with many opportunities to glimpse Dominican culture and the landscapes of the local countryside. The return trip will take about four hours and will include one stop. This park is NOT near Santo Domingo.

How long of a drive is this from Majestic Elegance? Is it near Santo Domingo?

At first we were unsure of who was picking us up because the driver did not speak English and the van was not marked and, hearing what you do about Dominican locals, we were not sure what to expect…but what a great excursion! We got in, stopped for fresh mandarins and had lunch at a local farm with crackers, fresh-picked papaya and pineapples along the way, and tasted fresh honey, coffee, and unrefined chocolate. Fantastic people that were pleasant and friendly…and delicious food! After traveling over some mountains, we transitioned from a small boat to a big boat. We saw red legged crabs, mangroves, herons and more. Our tour guide, Roberto, was very funny, informative and friendly. He made us feel relaxed as we toured around the island and he explained everything. We explored two caves which were inhabited by Taino Indians prior to being wiped-out by Spaniards, which was quite interesting.Then we had lunch at a local farm. We ate fish, chicken, beans and rice. We enjoyed amazing coffee and fresh fruit. There was a pond with a waterfall available for swimming. The day was full of fun and worth our time. By far the best part of our vacation.

You will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel (included in the online price). You may be able to book at your hotel but not with iHeartDR since we only offer tours at discounted prices and can only do this online. We recommend booking online with plenty of time ahead to secure your spot in the excursion of your choosing since if you wait to get to your hotel it may already be completely booked.

We will be staying at Dreams Punta Cana from Sept. 21 til 28 and was wondering if we book this tour will we be picked up from our hotel and can we book it from there
