You can park your car across the street from the hotel at the Punta Cana Village parking lot. You’d be dropped off at the same hotel and then you can drive back to your apartment at Serena Village. Here are the driving directions on Google maps: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Serena+Village+Punta+Cana,+Punta+Cana/Four+Points+by+Sheraton+Puntacana+Village,+Boulevard+Primero+de+Noviembre,+Punta+Cana+23300/@18.596266,-68.4313299,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m13!4m12!1m5!1m1!1s0x8ea8ebbe23d05de3:0x63d022a38b33ee4a!2m2!1d-68.3733535!2d18.6179983!1m5!1m1!1s0x8ea892291e12042d:0xc945207885bb91f1!2m2!1d-68.37294!2d18.559315

You can expect to be on the bus for around 2 hours, accounting for restroom stops. The catamaran is large enough so that seasickness is not a real problem. Please note that you will be traveling on a small boat to get from the pier to the catamaran. The speedboat, on the other hand, does move quite a bit but it goes fast enough to counteract some of the motion sickness. I suffer from mild motion sickness and I find slow-moving boats to be worse. I’d recommend taking some Dramamine or ginger candy, which cruise passengers swear by for motion sickness.

And also, curious if the speed boat or catamaran ride are enjoyable for someone prone to sea-sickness?

Please be advised that there are no car seats available though. Also, I’d recommend planning your children’s clothing and protection for a lot of sun hours and intensity.

Reading the reviews we thought it was going to be best trip of our lives. Unfortunately we were very much mistaken!
It took us two hours to get to catamaran embarkation spot from the moment we were picked up (8am). Coach trip included compulsory souvenir shopping stop which we found overrated, overcrowded and mainly overpriced! We then got to the beach where we embarked catamaran. Pushy vendors of all sorts of things all the way.
Catamaran cruise took two hours and was the best part of the excursion. There was rum , music, dancers, plenty of entertainment and of course lots of opportunities to have “professional” photos taken.

We then got to the island which, itself, was beautiful and been told that we only had 2h15 mins there to spend! Lunch was provided but it was not impressive. Food stacked for hours in the heat with flies everywhere you looked! They then ran out of fruit which was later topped up. Never mind, we thought.
Where we ate and on the beach as well, place was just full of flies! Toilet facilities were dirty with hardly any running water to wash your hands! Health and safety at its lowest!
We had nice coconut juice though and enjoyed ourselves after all.

On the way back there was a stop at natural swimming pool where you could take photos with starfish (paid for of course!). It turned out that surprisingly starfish were only around the trip organiZers and staff! We thought it was fake anyway.

After 20 mins in the water we were told we were heading back to our coach. That’s it for $188 per couple! I think we could expect more than that! I forgot about constant request for tips by the tour staff!
